I love the idea behind this, I always feel the characters come to life when I pick up a good book.

Thanks for all the love. :D

Since you like this one so much, I feel the need to point you to (though you may already have seen them), my book sculptures.
In my mind, it's all the same sort of idea - an idea I love: the characters emerging from the book. I just recently made
a sculpture for "The Hobbit" book. The pictures will go up probably soon/in a couple days. You can check back/watch me if you're
interested in seeing it. :) Until then there's this piece:

Thanks, but I saw it before... And I've also seen a lot of other paper book-sulptures here on Deviantart.
But it is not the same to me than the clay one.

Yes...I like this clay one. And I also liked a few of the vast amount book-sculptures I have seen on DevaintArt so far.... but more because of it's originality or beauty of the form itself...but for sure not because of the "idea" - which is everything but new.

VICTORIA, WAS THIS HARD TO DO?

Geez, clay? Wow.

And are those little steps...? That's so cute!

yah? easier than i thought though... i had the idea - then thought, "man, i have to make clay look like a book." :hmm:
turned out better than i could've hoped. making the abstract piece, "Excitement" i learned how to really make something
look like rock. then, i just decided to finish this off the same way - like rock. yeps.. little steps. those were probably
the hardest part of it. thanks :D

I was surprised it was made out of clay. Looking good!

And the steps are really cute and creative! It's like the characters are coming alive and stepping out of their stories/books to take a peek at you!
